Shedding light to darkness

Abortion is murder.
It’s that simple.
It has been a very controversial topic since forever and it’s still stirring up divisions in this day and age.
Going straight to the point again, Abortion is murder. I know there are many factors in which people have thought that this is the only “right way out”, but I also want to stress out that there can be if not the right way, but the “other way.”
Adoption is always an option.
Like I’ve said, there are many factors that can contribute to the option of abortion like the unwanted pregnancy due to incest, rape and etc. But, as a woman- no, a victim of such, would you not rather allow the innocent child to live? The circumstances in which this person came into the world may not be the most ideal but why not give a chance by letting the child live? If you could not live with the thought of raising someone who reminds you of something tragic, why not go for adoption? That’s probably a better way than passing the “victim crown” to another human being. Remember, the child at this stage cannot speak for himself. It would be sad to know of the circumstances of his birth, but he did not have a choice as well. Did he asked to be born in this way, time and situation?
On the other hand, If above mentioned situation is not what you are in, and getting pregnant is something that has been a “mishap” after consented sexual intercourse, then you should know that you must take responsibility for your actions. Even more so if you are already married. If you had sex outside of marriage and now this happened, then sorry to say that choosing abortion is simply selfishness. Now, many will disagree claiming that it’s their “own bodies” and therefore can do whatever they want. But let’s put in a slightly different case. What if you were to commit suicide? Of course, your body is your own, as you claim but what about those people around you? They too, would be greatly affected. I’m not straying further but to stress out the point here is that, suicide is also a form of murder just as abortion is. The word “kill” is enough to paint the picture. Whether it’s to kill yourself, or the child within is evidently murder. Another factor that can contribute to wanting abortion might be because you might be too young, too irresponsible, lack of education, finances, etc. If so, why did you place yourself in a situation in which you are fully aware of the consequences of your chosen action? Escaping this would simply be being selfish and irresponsible.
When it comes to birth control methods, I think that they were created for the reason of preventing unwanted pregnancies and I think they are very helpful. Hence, I am not completely against them. However, if we are to include abortion, it steps on the essence of life and gives way to more justifiable ways of people having sex without thinking of the consequences. Especially for those who are not even married. It is irresponsible. Think about it again in a slightly different angle, if you are hungry and you can’t afford to buy food, do you steal it and justify your acts of stealing because you are hungry? It’s the same way as abortion. You cannot justify it by simply saying because having a baby is “inconvenient”, especially if you have consent. And for those who are already married, you are both meant to have children. If pregnancy is unwanted, that’s the only time to use birth control methods.
Voicing out my opinion, I know that many will see me differently but I do believe this is my right. I also want to fight for the helpless unborn. I want my voice to be heard. My thoughts on this is that my body does not belong to me alone, but God has given this to me and I am to care for it as it is his temple. I know people will judge me because my thoughts still dwell on “religion” but I just know what is moral. And what is moral will be right. I also believe that despite my strong trust in my opinion, I know I will still fall short and commit “wrongs” with this body. But that is the reason I speak now so that many can still prevent themselves from doing wrong.
I may not be a mother (yet?) Nor am I a victim of rape and incest, and I can never fully understand their sorrow. And to be honest, I am not even a people-person. I don’t even like crowded places. I even think that the world is already over- populated. I even have a twisted thought that terrorists kept the population balance in check!
But in this case, I just want to simply help out those unwanted unborn children. I want to give light in the darkness. I want to give hope for the life that can still bloom to a foster parent instead, if not from the biological parents. I can relate in a way that I was “adopted” by God into his family. And look at me now, I have a new identity in Christ, a chance at eternity.
I have no intention of having debates, nor am I forcing anyone. All that I am asking, encouraging and pointing is that, there is always another option. It’s not just in abortion, but also, in any aspect in life.
The “easy way out” is not always the best. Even I know this. And I am a fast-phased, irritable person who prefers getting things instantly. But my sense of right and wrong will always triumph, hopefully.
God bless you.
